President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev approved an agreement on strategic partnership, which provides for, among other things, the construction of an energy bridge from the Caucasus region to Europe. The corresponding presidential decree was published in the official press on Tuesday.

This is a strategic partnership agreement signed on December 17, 2022, between the governments of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary in the development and transmission of green energy.
After the entry into force of the agreement, the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan was instructed to ensure the implementation of its provisions.
According to the decree, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry was instructed to send a notification to the governments of Georgia, Romania, and Hungary about the implementation by the Azerbaijani side of the internal procedures necessary for the agreement to enter into force.
* On December 17, 2022, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania, and Hungary signed an agreement in Bucharest on a strategic partnership for the construction of a Black Sea Energy submarine electric cable with a capacity of 4,000 MW and a length of 1,195 km. The cable will be designed to supply “green” electricity produced in Azerbaijan through Georgia and the Black Sea to Europe.
