LUKOIL signed amendments to the agreement on the acquisition from Petronas of a stake in the Shah Deniz project (Azerbaijan), concluded on October 7, 2021.
“In accordance with the new agreements, the share acquired by LUKOIL is reduced from 15.5% to 9.99%, and the transaction amount is proportionally reduced from $ 2.25 billion to $ 1.45 billion.

The transaction is expected to be closed in January 2022, the Russian company said.
Thus, LUKOIL’s share in the project will increase from 10% to 19.99%.
In addition, SOCAR acquires 4.35% of the Petronas share, and BP 1.16%.
