The United States is in close contact with its European allies and partners in the wake of the energy crisis, State Department spokesperson Ned Price said at a briefing.

“We are concerned about the development of the situation and closely following the trading sessions,” he said.
The spokesman stressed that high energy prices highlight the need to switch to renewable energy sources.
Earlier, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said that the EU’s gas storage facilities were 77 percent full, which is enough to cover about 20% of the annual gas consumption by the countries of the organization, depending on weather conditions.
