Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries produced a pilot batch of transparent single-layer film (BOPP) 20 and 25 micron in thickness.
More than 90 tons of the film were produced at the Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene Film production unit that was assembled by the P.T. Istana Karang Laut Company (Indonesia).
Since July 1, after the completion of commissioning works, the plant workers are planning to produce films of various types and for various purposes, including packaging of food products and manufactured goods. Moreover, biaxially oriented polypropylene film that surpasses propylene film in strength, can be used in the textile industry and for packaging disposable medical supplies. High gas barrier properties and good thermoformability increase the film applicability.
The capacity of the production line – 21,000 tons per year – will enable the plant specialists to expand the range of products manufactured from polypropylene at the oil refinery.
