Tax debts to the state budget of Azerbaijan as of January 1, 2018 amounted to 1 billion 63 million 436.8 thousand manat and for the year of 2017 decreased by 25.9%.
According to the materials of the Accounts Chamber for the execution of the state budget of Azerbaijan for 2017, as of January 1, 2018, in the structure of tax arrears the main debt is 843 million 610,400 manat (2% decline for 2017).
As of January 1 of the current year, the debts on financial sanctions amounted to 145 million 853,100 manat (24.4% decrease), and on penalties – 73 million 973.3 thousand manat (80% decrease).
The decrease in tax debts in 2017 occurred, mainly, at the expense of state and private taxpayers. In particular, the debts of state companies for the main debt fell to 154 million 866,600 manat, and private companies’ debts – to 676 million 287,800 manat.
The tax debts of companies operating in the oil sector are 3.1%, and in the non-oil sector – 96.9%.
The materials of the Chamber indicate that as of January 1, 2018, the amount of funds unduly transferred by taxpayers to the state budget is estimated at 2 billion 544 million 887,400 manat, which is 2.4 times higher than the tax debt of taxpayers to the state budget.
In general, 50.3% of the funds that are excessively transferred by the taxpayers to the state budget are accounted for by the private sector, 20.3% – by state companies, 19.7% – by foreign companies, and 9.7% – by other taxpayers. At the same time, 9.4% of the excess funds are accounted for by companies operating in the oil sector.
