The annual volume of oil production in Kashagan by 2024 is planned to increase to 13-16 million tons, Kazakhstan’s energy minister Kanat Bozumbayev said.
“In Kashagan, by 2024, according to the project of further expansion, production is expected to increase from 13 million to 16 million tons per year,” Bozumbayev said, speaking at the meeting with the population in Astana on June 19.
As reported, in January-May, the volume of oil production at Kashagan amounted to 5 million tons.
In 2017, Kazakhstan produced 86.2 million tons of oil, including Kashagan with 8.35 million tons.
