Since December 15, Shymkent Oil Refinery (Petro Kazakhstan Oil Products, PKOP) has switched to the production of diesel fuel of the ecological class Euro-4 and Euro-5 according to the requirements of the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union.
According to the press service of PKOP, since July of this year the plant has started production of high-octane gasoline of ecological classes Euro-4 and Euro-5. Thus, the Shymkent refinery fulfils its obligations to provide the Kazakhstani market with high-quality petroleum products.
As PKOP added, the construction of the facilities of the second stage of the modernization project aimed at increasing the plant’s capacity to 6 million tons per year and the processing depth is being completed. The project will be completed in September 2018.
The Shymkent oil refinery was built in 1985 and is the newest in the republic. The modernization that started in 2014 includes two stages. JSC NC KazMunaiGaz and CNPC own 50% of the shares of the plant each.
