SOCAR will produce 73 thousand tons of oil and 16.5 mcm of gas annually by drilling 10 new production wells at the old Caspian offshore field Oil Rocks.
According to SOCAR, the project provides for the drilling of wells in Platform №2585 mounted at 44-meter depth. Currently, the Platform №2585 production is carried out from 16 wells. From each new well it is planned to daily produce 20 tons of oil and 4.5 thousand cubic meters of gas.
Commissioning of the new facility after renovation is scheduled before the end of 2017.
In 2016, SOCAR produced 7.52 million tons of oil compared to 8.16 million tons produced in 2015.
