The State Minister of Energy of Pakistan Jam Kamal Khan informed the Senate of Pakistan about the imminent start of specific negotiations with the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) on contracts for the purchase of petroleum products, Pakistani media writes.
According to him, Pakistan State Oil Company will hold talks on fuel prices.
Also, detailed negotiations with SOCAR for the purchase of liquefied natural gas (LNG) are expected on the basis of an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) signed with Azerbaijan on February 28, 2017.
The Pakistani State Oil Company (PSOCL), the Pakistani LNG-company (PLL), the Pakistani LNG Terminal Limited (PLTL), the Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) and Pakistan’s PPL received the mandate for such talks.
SOCAR is responsible for implementing the agreement from Azerbaijan.
The parties will discuss contracts for the supply of LNG to Pakistan, price and transport aspects.
