On October 18, Gazprom set a new absolute record of the daily gas supplies to CIS countries in history by exporting 578.9 mcm, the company said.
“Winter has not started yet, and demand for Russian gas in foreign countries is so high, as if severe frosts have come to Europe. This is another proof of the fact that Russian gas is a highly competitive and highly in demand in the European market. It is a proof that new gas transport routes are required for its reliable deliveries to foreign consumers, e.g. North Stream-2 and Turkish Stream,” the Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexei Miller said.
“In the nine and a half months of 2016, we have ensured the growth of gas supplies to far abroad, equal to the growth for the entire 2015 and this despite the fact that in front of us there are two and a half months. Already today we have surpassed last year’s result,” Miller said.
From the beginning of 2016, the gas supply to Germany increased by 7% (+ 2.4 bcm), France – by 21.1% (+1.5 bcm), Austria – by 24.8% (+ 800 mcm), Greece – by 53.7% (+ 700 mcm), the Netherlands – by 92.5% (+1.6 bcm), Denmark – by 148.6% (+ 800 mcm).
Gazprom retains the forecast average price of Russian gas at $ 165-170 per 1 thousand cubic meters.
