Until the end of this year the Kashagan field is expected to produce up to 1 million tons of oil and 680 mcm of gas, and in 2017 – 8.9 million tons of oil and 5.6 bcm of gas, according to the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan.
In the following years it is planned to increase production to 13 million tons of oil and 9 bcm of gas per year.
Currently, works are carried out in order to increase the level of production and its stabilization in the amount of 180,000 barrels per day, according to the press release.
Earlier, the Ministry of Energy predicted oil production at the Kashagan field in 2017 at a level of 4-7 million tons.
As reported, the Kashagan field on November 1 reached a production of more than 75,000 barrels per day. Currently, the field produces 120,000 barrels of oil.
Kashagan is the first offshore oil field in the Kazakh sector of the Caspian Sea, as well as the largest international investment project in the country.
The shareholders of NCOC, the operator of Kashagan, are Agip Caspian Sea B.V. (16.81%), ExxonMobil Kazakhstan Inc. (16.81%), KMG Kashagan B.V. (8.44%), JSC National Welfare Fund Samruk-Kazyna (8.44%), Inpex North Caspian Sea Ltd. (7.56%), Shell Kazakhstan Development B.V. (16.81%), Total EP Kazakhstan (16.81%) and CNPC Kazakhstan B.V. (8.33%).
