Iran can increase gas production capacity to 900 mcm per day by March 20, 2017 from the current 835 mcm, said Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, Shana News Agency reported. Over the next four years the capacity should exceed 1 bcm per day.
Also, the country plans to increase production of gas condensate and oil. To implement a five-year development plan, Iran’s oil and gas industry will need about $ 200 billion investment. “More than $ 130 billion of this amount should be the oil sector, more than $ 50 billion – the petrochemical industry and about $ 15 billion – the refineries,” said Zanganeh.
The development of large-scale and small-scale LNG is among the priorities of the Ministry. “Gasification of the country and export of gas to the neighboring countries in the next 1.5 years are among our major plans for the future,” the Minister added.
