The next session of the Russian-Turkish commission will take place in Istanbul in October 2016, reported Russian Energy Ministry after the meeting between Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and Turkish Minister of Economy Nikhat Zeybekchi.
As the co-chairmen of the intergovernmental Russian-Turkish Commission on Trade-Economic Cooperation, Ministers have expressed an intention to resume bilateral cooperation in fields of economy, energy and transport and others on a stage-by-stage basis.
Alexander Novak added that Russia is ready to resume talks on the joint energy projects.
“Turkish Stream is in the interests of Turkey and implementation of the project will make gas supplies to the country more reliable and advantageous,” explained Novak.
Turkish Minister of Economy Nikhat Zeybekchi assured Novak that all legal obstacles for construction of the Akkuyu atomic power station have been removed and expressed support to the Turkish Stream project. “Both countries will benefit from the Turkish Stream,” he said.
