Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov has made a decision to abolish the Ministry of Oil & Gas to further improve management of the oil and gas industry, improve operation of the industry and regulate proceeds of funds, reads information released by the Turkmenistan government on July 16, 2016.
The Cabinet of Ministers’ Department headed by Vice Premier Yagshigeldy Kakayev will take upon itself the main functions of the abolished Ministry.
Part of the organizations and enterprises of the abolished Ministry will be managed by the state concerns Turkmengas and Turkmennebit (Turkmenneft).
