Bulgarian trader Overgas has sued Gazprom GAZP for suspension of Russian gas supplies this year, reported Bulgarian Novinite agency.
Gazprom has suspended gas supplies from January 1, 2016, reported the agency quoting Overgas. The supplies have been suspended, despite the fact that the companies have concluded a long-term contract till 2019. Now Overgas buys gas from the Bulgarian state company Bulgargas from January 1, 2016.
In November 2012 Gazprom Export and Bulgargas signed a long-term contract to supply up to 2.9 bcm of gas a year. The contract regulates natural gas supplies from Russia to Bulgaria from January 1, 2013 and expires on December 31, 2022. Gazprom Export and Overgas have extended the contract for gas supplies to Bulgaria till the end of quarter 1, 2015 with the annual volume up to 400 mcm.
