The works to build the plant to produce petrol out of natural gas have started in Ovadan-depe Akhalsk province of Turkmenistan, writes Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.
The project is implemented on the basis of the contract between Turkmengas and consortium of компаний Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. (Japan) and Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri Inşaat Sanaýi ve Tiçaret Anonim Şirketi» (Turkey) companies.
Total cost of the project will be $1.7 billlion. It is implemented at the expense of Japan’s investments and resourcs of the state concern Turkmengas.
“As the world biggest project for natural gas processing into petrol, the plant must contribute to economic development of the country,” said the same source.
The plant will be equipped with the latest equipment made by the world makers and technologies of Dutch Haldor Topsoe company , which will be able to process 1,785 bcm of natural gas a year and produce 600,000 tons of RON-92 petrol up to Euro-5 standard.
The plant is scheduled to be launched in December 2018.
