The reports on gas production were presented on February 17 at the extended meeting of the collegium of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On results for 2015 and tasks for 2016”, Caspian Energy News reports with reference to the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

According to the report, in 2015 the gas output of the oil and gas companies of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 45.3 bcm (105% of the figure for 2014 and 103% of the plan figure for 2015). In 2015 natural gas consumption of the regions comprised 12.1 bcm (97% of the figure for 2014) for the year 2015.
According to the Agreement on Counter Gas Delivery between Gazprom, Uzbekneftegaz and KazMunaiGas dated December 27, 2006, all gas exports are swapped with the Karachaganak export at the same price and in equal volumes. The volume of gas exports from the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2015 amounted to 12.7 bcm (114.4% of the figure for 2014). The volume of international gas transit via the Republic of Kazakhstan in 2015 amounted to 87.1 bcm (95% of the figure for 2014). In particular, Russian gas accounted for 53.0 bcm, gas from Turkmenistan – 27.2 bcm, gas from Uzbekistan – 7.0 bcm. In 2015, Kazakhstan produced 2.5 million tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (102.3% of the figure for 2014).
In addition, the section of the Bozoi-Shymkent pipeline has been built and commissioned. To date the transportation via the section has comprised 3.0 bcm of gas. The construction of the linear part of the Beineu-Bozoi gas pipeline was finalised in November 2015. The full completion of the project, including construction of compressor stations, is expected in 2017, with bringing the design capacity to up to 10 bcm of gas.
Along with this, the construction of the third pipeline of the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline was completed in 2015, which, if consider the construction of compressor stations, will increase the total capacity of the pipeline to 55 bcma.
In 2016 it is planned to keep the gas output at the level of 43.5 bcm, production of liquefied petroleum gas at 2.6 million tonnes and gas exports at 11.6 bcm, as well as to complete construction of the compressor station №4 and №8 of the third pipeline of the Kazakhstan-China gas pipeline and to complete construction of the Bozoi compressor station of the Beineu-Bozoi-Shymkent gas pipeline.
