Iran has started talks with the international companies of Asia and Europe on development of the Phase 2 of the Southern Azadegan oil field with French Total company among them, Iranian Press TV channel quoted Makhmud Marashi, chief of development project, as saying on Sunday.
He said the project envisages extraction of up to 320,000 barrels of oil a day.
He also added that National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has already had talks with Total on this project.
Azadegan is the biggest oil field of Iran. Its geological resources are estimated at 33.2 billion barrels, while extractible resources of oil total about 6 billion barrels.
