On Thursday Bulgaria and Greece signed the agreement to make final investment decision on construction of the interconnector Greece-Bulgaria (IGB), reported Reuters.
IGB is the gas pipeline, which will allow Bulgaria importing Azerbaijani gas extracted from the Shah Deniz Phase 2. IGB will be connected to the trans Adriatic pipeline (TAP), via which gas from the Shah Deniz field will be exported to the European markets.
TAP will be built to transport gas from the Caspian Sea region to the south of Italy and then further to Western Europe via Greece, Albania and Adriatic Sea. Total length of the pipeline will be about 870 km.
