Shell, global energy giant, is interested in participation in the Iranian oil and gas projects, but it believes that it is too early to build any concrete plans, reported Press TV yesterday.
Iran is an interesting country from geopolitical viewpoint and there are interesting perspectives for investments into its energy projects, said Ben van Burden, Shell General Director, said at a conference in London yesterday.
He said the company’s plans in Iran will depend on development of the market of the country in short term.
Van Burden confirmed that Shell has been conducting talks in Iran and added that they are mainly focused on the company’s debts to the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
Last Friday Shell delegation arrived in Iran to conduct talks with the country’s officials.
