Since commencing of development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshi (ACG) bloc of fields in November 1997 till September 1, 2015 total volume of oil extraction from the ACG reached 375.5 million tons, reads the article by Khoshbakht Yusifzada, SOCAR Senior Vice President, published in Azerbaijan newspaper.
“During this period (since November 1997) 115.5 billion cub.m. of associated gas has been extracted from the bloc,” Yusifzada said.
He said the ACG bloc has 87 operations wells, which produced over 85,000 tons of oil and 35 million cub.m. of associated gas a day.
By September 1, 2015 205.4 million tons of profitable oil of Azerbaijan has been sold.
During 8 months, 2015 20,900 tons of oil has been extracted from the ACG bloc of fields, of which 64% of 13,300 is profitable oil of Azerbaijan.
The contract for development of Azeri, Chirag and a deep water section of Guneshli fields was signed on September 20, 1994 and entered into force on December 12, 194. The project partners include BP (35.78%), US Chevron (11.27%) and ExxonMobil (8,0006%), Indian ONGC Videsh Limited (2.72%), Japanese Inpex (10.96%) and Itochu (4.3%), SOCAR (11.65%),Norwegian Statoil (8.56%) and Turkish TPAO (6.75%).
Oil is extracted from the Chirag field since November 1997, from the central part of Azeri field since February 13, 2005, from the western part of Azeri since December 30, 2005, from the eastern part of Azeri since October 21, 2006, from the deep-water section of Guneshli field since early April 2008 and from the western part of Chirag since January 28, 2014.
