Azerbaijan has offered Iran to use its infrastructure for oil and gas export to the world markets, Azerbaijani Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev said yesterday at the meeting with Iranian Oil Minister Namdar Bijan Zangane in Tehran.
“Iran could use Azerbaijani infrastructure, especially the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, for its oil export,” said Minister. He said that in the future Iran could sign the trans-Anadolu gas pipeline (TANAP) project.
In addition, Azerbaijan has offered Iran to use its gas storages for gas storage during the period of consumption growth.
Iran has been also offered cooperation in fields of oil and gas machine-building and joint manufacture of oil and gas equipment.
The Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline with the capacity of 1.2 million barrels a day is used to pump oil from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan to the Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.
TANAP gas pipeline is a part of the Southern Gas Corridor, which is going to ensure Caspian gas supply to Europe.
