In quarter 1, 2015 Kulevi oil terminal owned by State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) transshipped 700,000 tons of oil, oil products and products of petrochemistry, up 20% against the same period last year, reads the information posted on the terminal’s web site.
“Since commencing its operations in 2008 till April 2015 the volume of transshipment of oil, oil products and petrochemical products via the Kulevi terminal totaled 18 million tons. 27.85% of this volume fell to the fuel oils, 21.63% – to crude oil and 43.98% to gasoil. The remaining volume fell to the aviation kerosene, propylene and methanol,” reads the information.
The terminal continues increasing the volume of transshipment. SOCAR bought the oil terminal in Kulevi in January 2997 and invested over $350 million into completion of its construction and upgrade. The carrying capacity of the terminal is 10 million tons of oil and oil products a year. Oil products are transshipped from Azerbaijan to the world marker via the terminal.
