Since summer 2014 assets of the Kazakhstan National Fund decreased by $8 billion or by 10%. This conclusion could be drawn from the report of the Kazakhstan National Bank released on April 7, 2015.
According to the National Bank, in August 2014 assets of the National Fund reached a peak of $77.2 billion. In September 2014 this amount decreased to $76.1 billion, while in October 2014 it went back to $76.8 billion. Then there was decline again. In November – $76.7 billion, in December – $73.5 billion. In January 2015 – $71.7 billion, in February – $71.7 billion and in March – $69.7 billion.
During the same period international resources of Kazakhstan increased from $27.7 to $29.1 billion. The National Bank’s assets increased from $20.2 billion to $21.5 billion. Net international resources increased from $27 to $28.3 billion.
