As has been already reported, since early year the biggest production and transportation company of the country BP-Azerbaijan has started laying off its employees and during January 2015 it laid off 255 employees.
Turan agency found out from its sources, none of the laid off employees of the company have laid claims to the company’s, because the compensations size did not suit them. Two factors, such as work experience and qualification of employee did not affect the compensation size.
The company’s employee, which had a work experience of about 18 years, had received the biggest compensation for lay off. Her “one-time fee” was about 100,000 AZN ($127 000). The compensation is tax free and paid by the company itself.
BP-Azerbaijan company has launched the campaign to repay credits of the employees within 14 months. This is also applied to the mortgage credits.
“We believe that our employees have taken upon themselves the financial risks, because of their stability. That is why we decided to help our former employees,” BP-Azerbaijan manager told Turan on condition of anonymity.
Until the end of March 2015 BP-Azerbaijan will lay off 422 employees.
