State corporation Turkmengeology will conclude a contract with Yug-Neftegas Private Limited company registered in Singapore to conduct seismic survey, reads the statement of Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov.
President’s statement reads that 3D seismic survey will be conducted on the area including a shallow section on the Caspian Sea within the northern Goturdepe field on the west of Turkmenistan and on the adjoining to it the central and western sections of Goturdepe field.
It is also planned to conduct 2D seismic survey prospect works on the shallow section of the Caspian Sea from Darja Gulf to the southern sandbank of Kelkor lowland together with a section of the shore and 3D seismic survey on the southwestern section of Goturdepe and Barsagelmez field and a depression located between these two fields.
The resolution reads that this will help to successfully implement the program of the Turkmenistan oil and gas industry development for the period till 2030.
Earlier the Turkmenistan Ministry of Oil & Gas Industry and Mineral Resources reported that Goturdepe and Northern Goturdepe fields and several other perspective oil and gas sites on the west of the country will be covered by the exploration works.
The issue has been discussed at the session of the Turkmenistan Cabinet of Ministers. During the session President has brought up the issues concerning intensification of the geological exploration works and geophysical studies aimed at search for the new hydrocarbon fields and oil and gas bearing structures in front of the top managers of the field.
President has also mentioned additional seismic survey and stressed importance of usage of modern technologies for processing of received geological and geophysical materials.
