Romania is not going to use South Stream gas pipeline to export its own natural gas, said Romanian President Troyan Basesku at the EU summit in Brussels, reported Ukrinform.
“As soon as the new gas fields are put into operation in the Black Sea, Romania could export gas with only one condition: none of cub.m. of Romanian gas will be exported via South Stream gas pipeline, which will be laid through Bulgaria.
All Romanian gas will be exported through the Romanian company Transgaz, added Basesku. He said at present Romania has no problems with delivery of its resources to the suppliers, the country satisfies about 80% gas demands at the expense of its own resources. The insufficient volume of fuel is imported from Russia.
