The initial cost of construction of the Siberian Strength gas pipeline is 770 billion rubles (about $21 billion), read the materials of the ceremony of connection of the first Siberian Strength gas pipeline link, which is scheduled to be held in Yakutiya in presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday September 1, 2014.
The gas pipeline will become a single transportation system for the Yakut and Irkutsk centres of gas production. Via the pipeline gas will be exported to China and to the Russian market. Total length of the gas pipeline will be 3968 km. The pipeline section Chayandinskoye oil and gas condensate field –Blagoveshensk will be built at the first stage.
Russian gas deliveries via the eastern route to China will begin in 2019, Aleksei Miller, chairman of Board of Gasprom, and Chzhan Gaoli, Senior Deputy Premier of State Council of China, made this decision during discussion of the course of construction of Siberian Strength gas pipeline.
The eastern gas route envisages delivery of 38 billion cub.m. of Russian natural gas to China via the Siberian Strength gas pipeline. The contract on deliveries during the period of 30 years was signed between Gasprom and CNPC on May 21, 2014. The sum of the contract is about $400 billion.
