At the fourth session of the Turkmenistan-Pakistan intergovernmental commission, which took place in Islamabad city last week, the countries have discussed a mutual interest in construction of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline, reported the Turkmenistan government.
The sides have also discussed the urgent issues of further development of the intergovernmental cooperation in economic field and implementation of the earlier achieved bilateral agreements.
The protocol has been signed at the session.
The Turkmenistan officials said earlier than the TAPI construction will start in 2015. The intergovernmental agreement of the countries-participants on commencing of the project implementation signed in 2010 in Ashgabad is the basis for the TAPI promotion.
