Turkmenistan and China have discussed the course of preparation of new joint projects in the oil and gas industry, reads the statement of the Turkmenistan government released yesterday.
The statement reads that the above-mentioned issues have been discussed during the meeting between Turkmenistan President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov and Vice Premier of the State Council of China Chzhan Gaoli in Ashgabad.
During the meeting Gaoli emphasized exceptional attractiveness of the Turkmenistan market at the expense of favorable investment climate created in the country and support provided by the state to the foreign business, reads the statement.
Chinese CNPC has been buying gas in Central Asia since December 2009. The purchases started after launching of two first branches of the gas pipeline (A and B) Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kazakhstan. The third branch of the gas pipeline was put into operation in June 2014.
China and Turkmenistan have signed the agreement to increase gas deliveries up to 65 billion cub.m. by 2020 and for this purpose they are going to build the fourth branch of the gas pipeline through Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
