SOCAR has started drilling of the first horizontal oil well on Pirallakhi island-shore field (northeast of the Absheron peninsula), reads the statement released by SOCAR on Tuesday.
The statement reads that the target depth of the well, which is being drilled by SOCAR’s drilling company, is 1088 meters.
SOCAR has been implementing the program to stabilize and increase oil production. For this purpose SOCAR has been drilling wells both on onshore and offshore fields in Azerbaijan.
