SOCAR will build a new cooling installation at the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery in Baku, reported SOCAR.
According to the same source, the decision to build a new installation was made, because the available cooling installations do not satisfy the requirements of the plant in the warm time of the year.
The installation made by French Hamon Thermal Europe company has been selected for the project.
Capacity of the installation is 7,000 cub.m. a day and it has been designed with the plans in mind to increase capacity of the preliminary oil refining installation at the oil refinery up to 7,500 tons a year and capacity of the catalytic cracking installation up to 3 million tons.
The requirements of the installations that are planned to be built here in the future have been also taken into consideration during the design.
The project is currently at the stage of preparation to construction. Oil products in Azerbaijan are made on two Baku-based oil refineries. The both oil refineries are a part of SOCAR, which refines about 6.5 million tons of oil a year extracted on the onshore and offshore fields by SOCAR itself.
