Kazakhstan will expand cooperation with the Organization for Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), reported Novosti Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan News) news agency quoting the Foreign Ministry.
According to the Foreign Ministry, permanent representative of Kazakhstan in the international organizations in Vienna Kayrat Sarybey has met with the OPEC General Secretary Abdalla Salem Al-Badri.
“During the meeting the sides have discussed Kazakhstan’s role in the global energy cooperation, the perspectives of bilateral cooperation and OPEC activities aimed at stabilization of the oil market and the current situation at the world energy market,” reported the same source.
General Secretary has informed about the current situation at the oil market and added that OPEC will maintain the oil production at 30 million barrels a day. OPEC has expressed interest in establishment of dialogue between Kazakhstan and OPEC in field of global energy cooperation.
The permanent representative of Kazakhstan has invited Al-Badri to visit the republic to take part at the 25th Conference of Energy Charter, which will take place in Astana on November 27, 2014.
