In quarter 1, 2014 75 million barrels of oil was exported by BP-Azerbaijan company through the Sangachal terminal, 42 km south of Baku. The volume of export increased by 4 million barrels against the same period last year.
A source from BP-Azerbaijan told Caspian Barrel that during this period 65.2 million barrels of oil was transported from the Sangachal terminal to the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) (61 million barrels in quarter 1, 2013), 8.02 million barrels via the Baku-Supsa pipeline (8 million barrels), 1.34 million barrels by railway from Baku to Batumi (1.4 million barrels) and 0.44 million barrels of condensate via the export pipeline (0.5 million barrels).
This means that this year the volume of transshipment from the Sangachal terminal totaled over 833,000 barrels a day.
