Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline from Switzerland signed on Monday an agreement to extend the memorandum of understanding and cooperation with the company BH-Gas d.o.o. Sarajevo.
BH-Gas reminds that since 2009 Bosnia and Herzegovina has been included in the regional project of the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline (Croatia, Montenegro, Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina), which would provide additional supply of gas from Azerbaijan.
They point out that a delegation of BH-Gas visited the Croatian company Plinacro d.o.o. Zagreb last week and discussed the harmonization dynamics of the two pipeline projects linking Slavonski Brod – Bosanski Brod – Zenica and the Adriatic-Ionian gas pipeline.
Both projects are of great importance because in this way Bosnia and Herzegovina would be supplied with gas from several directions, and also obtain benefits from transit taxes that would affect more favorable prices of gas to end users.
The Trans-Adriatic pipeline (TAP) is a project of linking sources of natural gas from the Caspian region (Azerbaijan) for the markets of Western Europe through the Adriatic-Ionian pipeline for the market of Southeast Europe, announced BH-Gas.
The Agreement of understanding and cooperation with BH-GAS was signed on the initiative of TAP and is valid until 2017.
