The expected growth of petrol prices in Iran had led to the fact that people try to keep it in their houses, Iranian Mehr News agency quoted Bijan Hadj Mohammadreza, chief of the Iranian Union of Petrol Stations Owners, as saying on Wednesday.
He said the government is concerned about the fact that people do not store petrol in the places and containers assigned for it, which could lead to tragic consequences.
The Iranian governmenrt offered to increase petrol prices as a part of the second stage of the subsidy reforms.
The Iranian government had to announce new petrol prices on April 20, 2014, but this has not happened yet.
At present petrol price in Iran is 7,000 rial per 1 liter (about 50 cents).
