From January to March 2014 foreign oil companies involved in oil and gas production in Azerbaijan have paid 262.3 million AZN to the state budget. One can come to this conclusion on the basis of the report made by the Azerbaijan Energy Minister Natig Aliyev at the session of the government.
The foreign oil companies’ payments to the state budget declined by 191 million AZN or by 42.1% against the same period last year.
During quarter 1, 2013 foreign companies transferred 453.3 million AZN to the state budget of Azerbaijan.
12 operation companies and one joint venture are involved in oil and gas production in Azerbaijan.
However, the Azerbaijan statistical agencies do not indicate their payments, production and export separately, they just mention them either as AIOC, or simply as the international consortium.
