In quarter 1, 2014 Azerbaijan exported 2,398,465,200 cub.m. of gas, up 18.8% against the same period last year.
According to the State Customs Committee, the declared volume of gas export totaled 821,595,073 cub.m. to the amount of $145,954,800. This means that during this period Azerbaijan sold 1000 cub.m. of gas at an average price of $177.65 outside of the country.
The customs agencies do not declare gas extracted on the Shah-Deniz field. Thus, the entire volume of exported gas belongs to State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).
SOCAR delivers its gas to Russia and Georgia. It also transports its gas to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) via Iran on the basis of swap deliveries.
