The Turkmennebit (Turkmenoil) state concern plans to increase the volume of geological and technical measures in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, in the regions of Khazar, Balkaniak and Gogerendag-Ekerem in 2014, the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Turkmenistan said on Feb.27.
Work on drilling 21 prospective and explorative wells was completed in 2013, according to the state concern.
“The development of these wells resulted in oil flow of which the industrial resource was 101.25 percent,” the ministry said.
Currently, the main work is being conducted in the area of Gogerendag-Ekerem in western Turkmenistan, where prospecting and exploration work at wells No. 12,16,18,19, 20 and 21 at the Akpatlavuk field have been completed.
“This resulted in getting an average 60-80 tons of oil flowing per day, as well as 100,000 cubic meters of natural gas. Currently, drilling work is being carried out in wells No. 14 and 24 at the Altyguyy field and well No.22 is being developed,” the ministry said.
On the basis of 3D-seismic surveys conducted by the Turkmengeologiy state corporation, oil workers are working on geological exploration sites at the Kemer area located east of the Akpatlavuk and Keimir fields.
In the years of independence, the Turkmen oil concern managed to increase oil production from five million tons to eight million tons per year and gas production to 11,600 million cubic meters.
