For the first time since 2010 BP Plc company took part in the auction for the licenses for drilling operations in the Gulf of Mexico. The company had applied for 24 of 329 blocs, which have been put for tender this week, reported Financial Times.
On March 13, 2014 BP has reached an agreement with the US Environment Protection Agency to take part in the bids for the US government contracts.
BP said that “this shows an important role the company plays in the US economy and its energy future,” FT wrote.
