Yesterday Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov received Paolo Skaroni, General Director of Italian Eni oil and gas company.
Skaroni said that the important direction of the program of upgrade of the local fuel-energy field is diversification of export routes of the Turkmen energy carriers to the world markets and Turkmenistan attaches a great importance to development of business relationships with the partners from the European Union and it is going to continue involving the leading European consortia, including Italian ENI operating in 70 world countries, into the joint projects.
He stressed importance of the memorandum of mutual understanding signed between ENI and the Turkmenistan state agency for management and usage of hydrocarbon resources under Turkmenistan President in Rome. The memorandum envisaged opening of the training centre and conducting a series of studies by the Italian company.
Speaking about the intention to expand presence at the Turkmen market, ENI President said that the reason of the interest is development of relationships between the governments of Turkmenistan and Italy and favorable investment climate created in the country.
During the meeting Turkmen President Gurbangulu Berdymohammadov and ENI General Director have discussed results of the works done in the past time and possibility of the company’s participation in another perspective projects.
He expressed confidence that number of the joint projects will keep on growing and said he appreciates the confidence the company treated with and assured that the company will take all its commitments with proper responsibility.
