Wholesale prices for Gazprom gas for all categories of consumers will grow by 3.4% from July 1. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of the Russian Federation adopted a corresponding decision.
The order of 11 May was registered with the Ministry of Justice on June 19.
The wholesale prices for gas that Gazprom sells are regulated by the state. The forecast of social and economic development of the Russian Federation for 2018 and for the planning period 2019-2020, prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development, assumes indexation of wholesale gas prices for all consumers to the level of 3.4% in 2018, 3.1% in 2019 and 3% in 2020.
As reported on the website of Gazprom, following the results of 2017, the total gas consumption in the Russian Federation amounted to 468 bcm (in 2017 Russia exported gas in total in the amount of 210.2 bcm worth $ 42.9 billion), of which 230 bcm was the share of the gas monopoly. At the same time, the average price of gas sales in Russia last year was $ 65.3 per 1,000 cubic meters (an increase of 14.36% or $ 8.2 compared to 2016). Last year 37% of the gas consumed in Russia fell on the energy sector, 11% – on the population, 9% – on the oil industry, 8% – on the municipal sector, 6% – on metallurgy and 29% – on other consumers.
