The intergovernmental agreement on the Turkish Stream will not be signed earlier than December 2015- January 2016, RIA Novosti quoted Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak as saying.
“The Turkish government has not been formed and the intergovernmental agreement on the Turkish Stream will be signed after the elections, no earlier than December-January,” he told journalists.
On October 2 in Istanbul Novak and Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ali Reza Alaboyun have conducted talks within the framework of the meeting of Energy Ministers of G20. Russian Minister said that all issues related to the relationships between the two countries in the energy field, including oil and gas industry, electric energy and nuclear field, have been discussed.
Novak added that work on the draft of agreement continues at the levels of experts and technical specialists.
“Next week the specialists will have a meeting. But this does not mean that we will reach a final agreement. We will find a final agreement when the new Turkish government is formed. We simply must draft a text right now,” Minister added. “The parliamentary elections will be conducted in November, formation of the government and appointments will take some time. This will last till New Year, if not till January,” Novak said.
