The North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC), operator of the Kashagan project, has held public hearing of the project of impact of the industrial development of the Kashagan field on environment.
NCOC press release reads that the “project includes replacement of the sulfurous oil pipeline and sulphur dioxide pipeline for transportation of extracted oil from the island D to the Bolashak plant.”
Residents of Atyrau and Mangistau districts of Kazakhstan, representatives of NGOs and local executive agencies took part in public hearings.
Kashagan field is among the biggest ones discovered in the past 40 years. The project is the most complex one ever implemented by the international oil companies.
The project partners include “KMG Kashagan B.V.”, “AGIP Caspian Sea B.V.”, “CNPC Kazakhstan B.V.”, “Exxon Mobil Kazakhstan Inc.”, “INPEX North Caspian Sea Ltd.”, “Shell Kazakhstan Development B.V.” and “Total E&P Kazakhstan”.
