The ceremony of putting into operation of the vessel named after the USSR People’s Artist, singer Muslim Magomayev took place yesterday.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, his wife Mehriban Aliyeva and Muslim Magomayev’s widow, USSR People’s Artist Tamara Sinyavskaya took part at the ceremony.
Rauf Veliyev, chairman of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, has informed President that length of the high-speed passenger vessel Muslim Magomayev is 70 meters, width- 16 meters and height is 6 meters.
The vessel will be handed over to the oilmen working offshore and will be used to transport up to 150 oilmen to the oil and gas platforms on the Caspian Sea. Depending on the weather conditions (wind speed 17 meters/second and wave height up to 4 meters), the vessel will move with a speed of 38 bend. The current vessels, which are used to transport oilmen to the Neft Dashlary (Oil Rocks) field, move with a speed up to 18 bend. This means that time of shift will be significantly reduced.
* Muslim Magomayev vessel was built at the Australian ship-building plant Incat-Tasmania. Construction of the vessel took one year. After completion of all offshore tests on October 4, 2014, Muslim Magomayev vessel headed towards Baku. Private company Caspian Marine Services will be involved in operation of the vessel on the Caspian Sea on the basis of a long-term alliance with the Azerbaijani Caspian Shipping Company.
Caspian Marine Services Ltd was registered in Baku and started to work in the Caspian Sea since January 201. The company is involved in repair and technical inspection of the vessels in the Caspian Sea.
