Austrian EDL/Porner company has been working on the feasibility study of the project to transfer two installations from Azerneftyag to Heydar Aliyev oil refinery.
SOCAR press office reported that ELOU-AVT-2 and the bitumen installations will be transferred from Azerneftyag to the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery in Baku.
The works will be carried out to execute the presidential decree to accelerate transition to Euro-3, Euro-4 and Euro-5 standards and SOCAR has started some works at the oil refineries.
In particular, it is planned to build Meroks installation on the basis of the US UOP company’s technology to clean liquefied gases and light gasoline factions from sulfides to improve environment at the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery. The works to design the installations are currently in progress.
UOP company has been also working to increase productivity of the catalytic cracking installation No 55 at the Heydar Aliyev oil refinery up to 3 million tons a year.
On the basis of the feasibility study worked out by Italian Foster Wheller company it is planned to increase productivity of ELOU-AVT-6 installation up to 7.5 million tons a year.
At present Azerbaijan has two oil refineries – Azerneftyag and Baku-based Heydar Aliyev – and they both are a part of SOCAR.
