SOCAR plans to complete the process of transferring the ELOU-AVT machine from the Azneftyag refinery to Baku Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev by the end of 2020, SOCAR Vice President for processing David Mammadov said.
“The primary oil refining machine (ELOU-AVT) is to be moved from the Azneftyag refinery to the Baku Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev during the program of reconstruction and modernization of the Baku Oil Refinery.” Given that this program is to be completed in the first quarter of 2021, the machine should be transferred by the end of 2020, after which the commissioning process will begin,” Mammadov said.
The capacity of ELOU-AVT is 2 million tons of oil per year. He also recalled that a new bitumen-making machine will be put into operation at the Baku Oil Refinery in September 2018.
As reported, the Baku Oil Refinery’s reconstruction, in general, will be carried out in three stages, including the construction of a total of 14 units. The project is estimated at $ 2.2 billion.
