After 2020 oil production in Kazakhstan will exceed 100 million tons, Vladimir Shkolnik, Kazakhstan Energy Minister said at the 25th session of the Energy Charter Conference.
“According to our forecasts, after 2020 oil production in Kazakhstan will exceed 100 million tons a year or 2 million barrels a day,” said Kazakhstan Energy Minister.
He specified that during the past 20 years oil production in Kazakhstan more than tripled and totaled 1.6 million barrels a day. Gas production has increased by more than 5 times. At present the country produces over 40 billion cub.m. of gas a year.
“Oil and gas as well as energy industries are among the basic elements of our economies. During the years of independence we have joined 15 top countries with huge proved oil resources and top 20 countries with huge gas resources,” http://www.inform.kz quoted Shkolnik as saying.
