The first voyage of the tanker “Zangilan”, built at Baku Shipyard by order of Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company CJSC (ASCO), took place to the Turkmen port of Aladzha, Trend reports via ASCO.
According to information, the new tanker delivered a batch of Turkmen crude oil to the Sangachal seaport of Azerbaijan for further transit (via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline) on July 17.
To note, the official ceremony in connection with the commencement of operation of the new generation tanker “Zangilan” was held in Baku on July 2.
The tanker is 141 meters long, 16.9 meters wide, and has six cargo reservoirs. Its total cargo capacity is 7,800 tons.
These technical characteristics of the vessel allow it to enter the ports of the Caspian basin and transport cargo beyond its limits with maximum cargo capacity.
“Zangilan” is the fourth domestic tanker built at Baku Shipyard.
Three more new-generation tankers (similar to the Zangilan) will be built at this shipyard upon ASCO’s order.
