Job Capsule:
Under broad direction, provides cross-functional fluids expertise for technical support on rig site location and/or customer’s
operational office for high profile well projects. Assignments require sufficient technical experience to assure competence
as a fully-trained fluids professional (drilling, completion and other fluids engineering as required). Must be able to work
with minimal supervision. At this level, individuals will have previously demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature fluid
engineering design and implementation judgement in anticipating and solving fluid engineering problems in the most
efficient and economical manner. May have direct supervision of lower positions in job family. Job role has budgetary
type of accountabilities or directly impacts a revenue center’s viability or its quality of service via personal contributions.
Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering and/or other related field and
a minimum of 5 years rig site experience, with average experience ranging from 10-15 years with an average of 15+ years
fluids application experience.
Job Roles:
· Ensures the delivery of superior PSL service quality.
· Provides technical and operational expertise internally to Drilling/Completion Fluids Product Service Line (PSL)
employees at the rig site and to the customer representative
· Uses advanced fluid techniques for modification, extension of theories, precepts, and practices of the total fluids rig
site management of the field Product Service Line (PSL) disciplines
· Provides interface support as required by the customer in behalf of the service delivery Product Service Lines,
Business Development and Technology groups
· Will be a mentor to the less experienced employees in this job family as well as the rig site application personnel
· With minimal supervision, independently applies advanced fluids engineering techniques, makes decisions on fluids
engineering application, problems, methods, and represents the organization in conferences to resolve important
questions or to negotiate with key customer engineers and officials of other industry organizations
· Develops and maintains personal relationships with the technical and operational customer base.
· Seeks continuous improvement of overall PSL service performance within assigned operating area
Scope of Job:

Education, Licensure, and Experience:
· Completion of an undergraduate degree in Engineering or related
· Minimum of 10 years of experience in energy services industry which includes experience in drilling fluids
Role Specific Knowledge:
Clear creativity, foresight, and mature judgement in anticipating and solving fluid engineering problems.
A clear understanding of HSE roles responsibilities.
A superior understanding of all technical drilling issues prevalent in the area.
A superior application track record of applying appropriate fluid technologies in the field.
Ability to work closely and successfully with PSL and client operational personnel

· Under broad direction: supervision received is usually centered around job results or methodologies used such as
problem solving approaches, establishing broad parameters for projects, work organization, progress reports, etc.
There may be occasional “General” or even “Direct” supervision.
